MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2012) – A ton of fresh bangsi (flying fish) is distributed to residents and Bangsi Festival guests for the bangsi street grilling Friday, January 27, at the town’s main road. Guests and visitors were enjoined to grill and eat all they can for free. Bangsi is Maitum's One Town One Product (OTOP), providing livelihood to coastal households. Its value-added product, the marinated and half dried flying fish, is a popular pasalubong and breakfast fare. Bangsi Festival also honors the fisherfolk.
