A total of 760 families were temporarily relocated to designated evacuation centers, namely the Municipal Gymnasium, Sison Covered Court, Zion Covered Court, Lomutan Elementary School (Kalaneg), Pangi Covered Court, Mantulan, Ticulab Elementary School, and the Senior Citizen Building of Maguling. The evacuation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), MWSDO, barangay officials, emergency responders, and volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of affected residents. Following the official cancellation of the tsunami warning by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), all internally displaced persons (IDPs) were allowed to safely return to their respective homes. Authorities, however, continue to advise residents to remain vigilant, monitor official announcements, and observe necessary safety precautions as aftershocks may still occur. The Local Government Unit of Maitum extends its gratitude to all responders, volunteers, partner agencies, and community members whose cooperation contributed to the successful implementation of the evacuation and response operations.
