3RD QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED) 2026 The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) – Maitum successfully conducted the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026 at the Maitum Public Terminal, with the active participation of partner agencies, LGU employees, terminal drivers, and passengers. The activity was spearheaded by the MDRRMO – Maitum, under the leadership of Engr. Clifford L. Narvaez, in coordination with the following participating agencies and stakeholders: Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Maitum Station, Maitum Municipal Police Station (PNP), Charlie Company, 105th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) – Maitum Sub-Station, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 (RMFB 12), 2nd SPMFC, LGU Maitum Employees, Public Utility Drivers and Terminal Passengers The conduct of the NSED serves as an essential preparedness activity aimed at assessing the community’s readiness, strengthening inter-agency coordination, enhancing emergency response mechanisms, and promoting public awareness on appropriate earthquake safety measures. The participation of terminal drivers and passengers further emphasized the importance of whole-of-community preparedness, ensuring that disaster risk reduction knowledge and practices reach not only responders and government personnel but also the general public. The MDRRMO – Maitum encourages everyone to continuously practice the DUCK, COVER, and HOLD protocol and remain vigilant and prepared for any earthquake or emergency situation.
